Statement of Faith

I believe the God of the Bible is the only true and living God. Omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, He is eternal—with no beginning or end—and exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God created the universe and all things in it for His glory. God is loving, just and compassionate and desires an eternal relationship with each living person, whom He created from the moment of conception. (Jeremiah 10:10; Isaiah 44:6; Genesis 1:1; John 14:16-26; Romans 8; Psalm 89:14; John 6:40)

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, crucified on a cross and bodily resurrected three days later. He is the perfect propitiation for the penalty of man’s sin—eternal separation from Father God. Only through Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection—grace through faith in Jesus—can a person be in eternal communion with God in heaven when they die. Jesus was fully human and a sinless example of how all Christians should seek to live. Jesus now sits at the right hand of God and awaits His second coming to earth. (Matthew 28:1-10; Luke 1:35; Romans 8:3; Philippians 2:1-11)

I believe the Holy Spirit indwells all believers. He convicts people of their sin and their need of a Savior, converts them to the Cross, and reveals Jesus and God’s truth through the Holy Bible. (1 Corinthians 6:19; John 14:14-17; John 16:5-11)

I believe the Bible is the Holy Word of God. Inerrant, divinely inspired, and written by men, the Bible is good for instruction, edification, correction, spiritual growth, leadership, and all aspects of life. It is an infallible guidebook, detailing the path to salvation and how Christ-followers should live and interact with each other and the world. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

I believe man was created in the image of God and by his own free will sinned against God. As a result, all mankind is born sinful and therefore eternally damned but not for a personal decision to accept the sacrificial work of Jesus—the atonement of sin through His death, burial and bodily resurrection—whereby each man, woman or child can be saved from such sin. In Christ alone we are victorious over death and shall live eternally in the presence of Almighty God. (Genesis 9:6; Romans 5:18; Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:4; 1 Corinthians 15:55)

I believe salvation is received by grace through faith alone and that all those who are saved should seek to live a life like Jesus—blameless and full of love with a servant’s heart. (Romans 10:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 5:13)
